Today 1 in 7 Canadians is 65 years of age of older. In just 25 years, nearly 1 in 4 Canadians will be a senior and it is expected that over 1.1 million Canadians will be affected by Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia.

The United Nations summit on Non-Communicable Disease (NCD Summit) has adopted a Declaration that includes Alzheimer’s disease as a global health issue. Adding dementia to health planning efforts at the country and World Health Organization levels would be a major leap forward! For more information, see the United Nations website.
